Kenyan media personality Azeezah Hashim is set to make history as the first East African to host The Future Awards Africa (TFAA).
Her appointment marks a major milestone for the region, breaking new ground in an event that has traditionally featured West African hosts. Azeezah’s inclusion signals a deliberate effort by the organizers to broaden representation across the continent and celebrate diverse African voices.
“Honoured to be hosting the 19th Edition of The Future Awards Africa this year alongside Nollywood’s baddest Mike Afolarin,” Azeezah shared on Instagram.

“The Future Awards through The Future Project has for years changed and shaped the lives of many Africans and being a part of such an impactful and historic event is a huge honour and blessing!”
For East Africa, Azeezah’s hosting role represents more than just a professional win — it’s a symbol of visibility and growth for regional talent on a pan-African stage.
Known for her vibrant personality and youthful energy, she is expected to bring her signature flair to a live theatre filled with Africa’s most dynamic youth leaders, entertainers, and changemakers.
Azeezah’s selection also injects fresh energy and a multicultural Kenyan touch into the TFAA brand. From captivating audiences on Kenyan radio and television to commanding major live events, she has built a reputation for authenticity, charisma, and connection with young audiences.

Her career began in Kenyan radio before transitioning to television, where she rose to fame as the host of Citizen TV’s “10 Over 10” entertainment show. Beyond the screen, she has emceed major events across Africa, earning praise for her engaging stage presence.
In 2024, Azeezah’s impact was further recognized when she was crowned Media Personality of the Year at the Odartey Style and Fashion Awards in Ghana — a testament to her growing influence at the intersection of media and fashion.
The Future Awards Africa, founded in 2006, is a prestigious annual Nigerian awards ceremony that celebrates young Africans aged 18 to 31 who are making remarkable contributions across various fields. Over the years, the show has been hosted by iconic personalities such as Bonang Matheba, Toke Makinwa, Adekunle Gold, and Nomzamo Mbatha.

Last year’s (18th edition) event was hosted by Ladipoe, Mbryo, and Andre Vibez, spotlighting creative excellence across West Africa. Now, as Azeezah steps onto the stage for the 19th edition, she not only joins this elite list but also ushers in a new era for East African representation in one of Africa’s most celebrated youth platforms.
Her hosting marks a powerful cultural moment for Kenya and East Africa at large — one that embodies passion, pride, and progress on the continental stage.
