Azeezah’s management issues statement after People’s Choice Awards backfired

Award-winning media personality Azeezah Hashim has distanced herself from the People’s Choice Awards that backfired last night.

Azeezah and K24’s Tony Mwirigi were picked as the MCs of the People’s Choice Awards gala, but unfortunately, the awards never happened.

Credible reports reaching Famous Media, indicate that the organizers of the said Awards did not show up leaving nominees and attendees disappointed and frustrated at the venue.

Ms Hashim through her management –Kaka Empire sought to clarify that she was not in any way involved in organizing the awards.

The statement states that Azeezah was only picked as the MC and she reported on duty as agreed but unfortunately, the organizers were nowhere to be seen.

“Aziza was honoured to be hired as the host for the event; however, due to unavoidable circumstances, she was unable to execute her role as planned, despite having arrived at the location at the stipulated time,” the statement said in part.

At the same time, Azeezah apologized to her fans and supporters who had turned up at the venue to watch her do what she does best.

“She deeply regrets any disappointment caused and extends her heartfelt apologies to her fans and supporters,” the statement adds.

Public Upoar

A section of those who attended the gala expressed their disappointment in a series of videos shared online.

Many of those who took part in the awards voting had to pay Sh10 bob for each vote and attendees also paid between Sh1500 to Sh3000 to attend the gala which never happened.
