Detectives from the Directorate of Criminal Investigations (DCI) have arrested TikTok content creator Godfrey Mwasiaga, popularly known by his handle Kakan Maiyo, following the circulation of a viral video in which he allegedly incited violence against police officers and their families.
According to the DCI, the controversial video, which has sparked mixed reactions online, was posted on Mwasiaga’s TikTok account and contained explicit threats urging physical harm against members of the National Police Service.
In the clip, the suspect is heard encouraging attacks on law enforcement personnel, a move that authorities have condemned as dangerous and inflammatory.
Following a trail of intelligence leads, detectives tracked Mwasiaga to Kimathi House in Nairobi, where he was discovered running a covert office operation under the business name LetaPeleka Logistics. The suspect was taken into custody without incident and is currently undergoing processing at a DCI facility.

“Godfrey Mwasiaga Kakan Maiyo, the suspect behind a viral video inciting violence against police officers and their families, has been arrested. The video had been uploaded to his TikTok account. Detectives trailed the suspect to Kimathi House, where he was operating a discreet office under the name LetaPeleka Logistics.
He is currently in custody undergoing processing, pending arraignment.,”
“He will be arraigned in court once the investigations are complete,” a statement from the DCI noted.
The arrest comes amid growing concern over the misuse of digital platforms to spread hate speech, disinformation, and threats of violence.
The National Police Service and other security agencies have reiterated their commitment to taking firm action against individuals who use social media irresponsibly.

Authorities have urged members of the public to exercise caution and responsibility when using social media platforms, warning that freedom of expression does not extend to incitement or threats against national security institutions.
As investigations continue, the DCI has confirmed that Mwasiaga will face charges aligned with the Computer Misuse and Cybercrimes Act, and potentially incitement to violence under Kenya’s penal code.
