East Africa Breweries Limited (EABL) through their flagship brand Johnnie Walker penned a message of appreciation to American rapper Lauryn Hill.

In the statement, Walker Town organizers lauded Ms Hill for withstanding all the challenges that Day Two of the festival faced to deliver an electrifying performance.

They described Day Two of Walker Town as a night of Grit, Resilience, and Music Magic.

They went on to mention some of the challenges they faced on the said day after a heavy rainfall damaged most of their equipment making it hard for the concert to kickoff on time.

“To our incredible Walkers,

Sunday night’s performance by Ms. Lauryn Hill will forever be etched in our hearts. Due to heavy rainfall, some key equipment was damaged beyond use causing major delays in setup, sound, and line checks.

“Despite this, Ms. Hill, unshakeable in her resolve to deliver a befitting performance for her fans, personally rallied us together and worked tirelessly with her team, being early on set and staying on hand for hours, pushing through the elements until 3 a.m. when she delivered a spectacular performance,” the statement said in part.

They added that Ms Hill was able to perform for 1.5 hours.

Since her first steps onto the stage, Ms. Hill was determined to share her magic by bringing her son Zion with her, a poignant reminder of her first performance in Kenya in 1997 when she was pregnant with him. Ms. Hill returned to the stage multiple times over 1.5 hours, each encore more powerful than the last,” they said.

They also acknowledged fans who waited until the last minute when MS Hill was able to take to the stage and perform.

“We extend our deepest gratitude to Ms. Hill and her entire team, as well as the fans who stood with us in the rain, sharing in a night of resilience, unity, and unforgettable music. As Ms. Hill herself has said, “Music is supposed to inspire.” And on Sunday night, that inspiration was felt by everyone present,” the statement added.

“Walker Town is more than an event – it’s an invitation to live boldly, explore, and create memories that last a lifetime. Thank you for your understanding and for making this night of musical resilience one for the ages. With gratitude, Walker Town Team. #KEEPWALKING,”

DAY TWO OF WALKER

EABL issued a public apology on Day Two of the Walker Town Festival after the event faced unforeseen disruptions on Sunday.

In an official statement seen by Famous Media, EABL promised to issue a 100% refund to revelers who bought tickets for day two of the festival.

“We sincerely apologize to all our valued festival-goers, suppliers, artists, and stakeholders for the disruptions experienced during day two of the Walkertown festival,” the statement said.

The Organizers of the concert say the technical challenges, particularly due to the heavy rain and other conditions, affected the event’s sound, thus causing significant delays, which resulted in the delayed performance by Ms. Lauryn Hill and, regrettably, the cancellation of Johnnie Walker’s brand partner Nyashinski’s performance.
