Kenya’s beauty and tourism fraternity is mourning the passing of former Miss Tourism Kenya, Lilian Musau, who died peacefully on Tuesday, 27th January 2026, at 7:00pm, following a brief illness.
In a statement shared with family and friends, the Musau family confirmed that Lilian passed on while under medical care, expressing gratitude for the overwhelming prayers, love, and support extended to them during her illness.
“With love and heavy hearts, trusting in God’s will, we want to let you know that our beloved Lilian passed away peacefully on 27th January 2026 at 7:00pm,” the family shared. “Though our hearts are broken, we find comfort in knowing she is now at rest.”
Lilian, a former Miss Tourism Kenya, was widely admired for her grace, warmth, and passion for promoting Kenyan culture and tourism. Beyond the pageant world, she remained a beloved friend and colleague to many within the media, entertainment, and events industry.

Media personality and events guru Chris Kirwa also paid tribute, describing her as a dear friend whose courage stood out during her final days. He revealed that Lilian had spent about a month in hospital, where she bravely battled illness before resting peacefully.
“She rested peacefully in God’s presence,” Kirwa shared, while also announcing funeral arrangements on behalf of the Musau family.
According to the family, a memorial service will be held on Tuesday, 3rd February 2026, at 2:00pm at AGC Church, Karen. Burial will take place the following day, Wednesday, 4th February 2026, in Machakos County.
Gospel singer Daddy Owen, a close friend and college schoolmate, also mourned Lilian, remembering her as a kind soul whose faith remained strong even during her illness. He appealed to friends and well-wishers to continue supporting the family as they work to clear outstanding hospital bills.

The family has set up an M-PESA Paybill to help meet medical expenses incurred during Lilian’s treatment, calling on Kenyans of goodwill to stand with them during this difficult period.
As tributes continue to pour in, Lilian Musau is remembered not only as a beauty queen, but as a woman of grace, resilience, and deep faith, whose legacy will live on in the hearts of those who knew and loved her.
