The recent leak of a sexually explicit video allegedly featuring popular OnlyFans content creator Alicia Kanini has sparked outrage and concern across Kenyan social media platforms.

While many online users have either condemned or sensationalized the incident, Geoffrey Mosiria – a renowned moral commentator and youth advocate, has issued a stern and passionate statement, calling out the alarming trend of normalizing obscenity in society.

In his remarks, Mosiria expressed deep concern over what he described as a morally degrading and inappropriate display of behavior by Kanini.

“It is deeply concerning that Alicia Kanini has chosen to publicly share a nude and morally degrading video that openly exposes her inappropriate sexual behavior. Even more troubling is the silence and celebration from some quarters, as if such acts deserve praise,” he stated.

Mosiria, who serves as the Chief Officer for Environment in Nairobi County, emphasized the broader implications of such acts, particularly on Kenya’s youth and societal values.

He posed a critical question to the nation: “As a society, we must ask ourselves what message are we sending to our young girls and future generations? Are we endorsing obscenity and immorality as acceptable forms of expression?”

While many argue that platforms like OnlyFans allow users to express themselves freely and take control of their financial lives, Mosiria countered by noting that freedom of expression must still align with community moral standards and the law.

He went on to cite the Kenyan Penal Code, Chapter 63, Section 181, which criminalizes the production, possession, or distribution of obscene material.

“Obscenity is not just a moral concern; it is a criminal offense under Kenyan law,” Mosiria asserted.

The viral video, which continues to circulate online despite efforts to have it pulled down, has reignited debate around digital content regulation, online safety, and the boundaries between personal freedom and public decency in Kenya. It also raises legal questions regarding consent, privacy, and the monetization of adult content in the country.

As the controversy unfolds, Mosiria’s comments add a moral and legal lens to the public discourse, urging leaders, parents, and youth to reflect on the direction society is headed in the digital age.
