Cherengany Constituency MP Hopeful, Hon. Kororia Simatwa, over the weekend hosted a hotly contested volleyball tournament that brought together teams from across the constituency.

The event, staged in Kaplamai Ward, was part of his broader agenda of empowering the youth and giving back to society through sports.

The Hon. Kororia Volleyball Tournament showcased outstanding talent, with Kaplamai emerging as champions while Kapchepsir settled for second place. Other strong contenders, including Kiptenden, Tunen, Kapcheplanget, and Motosiet, secured places in the top six. Winning teams were awarded trophies, cash prizes, and other items to support their daily needs.

Speaking after the finals, Hon. Kororia lauded the players for their passion and determination.

“Today we have witnessed a thrilling and talent-packed tournament marking the climax of the Hon. Kororia Volleyball Tournament at Kaplamai Ward. The youths displayed a spectacular match and passion for the game. Youth talent and empowerment are one of my core agendas for the people of Cherangany. I thank the committee of the tournament for the coordination and for carrying everything out in a professional way. Congratulations, Kaplamai, for being the champion in the tournament,” he said.

A Platform for Youth Empowerment

Hon. Kororia stressed that the tournament went beyond sports—it was part of his mission to address the challenges facing young people in Cherengany. He criticized the current MP for neglecting the constituency and pledged to offer real solutions.

“This volleyball tournament is part of my agenda to empower talented youths in our constituency and make sure that young people are not idle. Therefore, as a leader who aspires to solve the unemployment burden in our constituency, I have made up my mind to approach these issues from all corners. When you see us setting up such tournaments, it is part of the broader plan to make sure that we take care of our people,” Hon. Simatwa stated.

He further urged voters to make informed choices in the 2027 elections, promising to prioritize the interests of Cherengany residents.

A Leader Preparing for 2027

Although Hon. Kororia did not make it to the ballot in the 2022 General Election, he was considered a formidable contender.

Over the past three years, he has focused on strategies to tackle unemployment, improve agricultural productivity, and uplift education and healthcare in the constituency.

“Come 2027, I will be the right choice to represent the people of Cherengany Constituency in the National Assembly, as I have their interests at heart,” he affirmed.

A son of Motosiet village, Hon. Kororia is an accomplished professional, holding a Bachelor’s degree in Commerce and Economics from the University of Nairobi and a Master’s degree in Public Relations and Diplomacy from South Africa.

Beyond politics, he is a respected real estate consultant in Nairobi and a close ally of President William Ruto.

With a bold agenda centered on youth empowerment, agricultural transformation, accessible healthcare, quality education, and transparent leadership, Hon. Kororia Simatwa is steadily positioning himself as a frontrunner for the Cherengany MP seat in 2027.
