Kilifi County Governor Gideon Mungaro
The passing of George Oduor has come as a great shock to me. He was not only a long-serving aide and bodyguard to ODM Party Leader and Prime Minister @RailaOdinga, but also a trusted confidant.
As far as I can recall, Oduor had served as Raila’s personal bodyguard for a considerable number of years.
I would like to express my sincere condolences to Oduor’s family and friends during this difficult time, and most importantly, I offer my deepest sympathies to Baba for the loss of such an exceptional individual who had been by his side for so long. His memory will always be cherished.
May he Rest in Peace 🕊️

I have known George Odour, Hon @ @RailaOdinga’s aide, for over eighteen years.
The first time I interacted with him, the then Commissioner of Police, Major General Hussein Ali, asked me to get in touch with him ( I can’t disclose the details of this encounter unless I get clear from Baba Man @RailaOdinga).
The second significant encounter with him was when I asked him to urgently pass on a critical message whose details would have changed the trajectory of this country’s political landscape 18 years ago.
Since then, George has been a confidant and a very personal and close friend of mine.
It’s sad that this soft-spoken man has passed on and in an excruciating way.
George was more than an aide to Baba man.
George knew when it was the right time to call Baba Man. He knew when the political class was about to betray the cause and would call on us to show up for Baba Man.
After three election losses, I have sat with George and seen a man with so much resilience in the face of a crushing defeat.
And every time we “lost,” he would tell me, “Bro, we start again, kaa karibu na Mzee.”
So when Keta Onyango, one of Mzee’s aides, called me to say pole a few minutes ago, it hit me hard.… we just lost a good man.
May his soul rest in eternal peace.

I am deeply saddened by the passing on of George Oduor, a long-serving and dedicated aide to PM @RailaOdinga. My deepest condolences to family and friends.
George’s commitment to the cause of the liberation movement was an inspiration to many. R.I.P Comrade.
Siaya Governor James Orengo
Today I mourn a true friend, a trusted aide and soldier to Hon. Raila Amolo Odinga. For more than three decades, George Oduor has been a partner and comrade in the struggle, he has journeyed with us through the good and bad.
He always called me “Nera” when we met; a humble gentleman has departed.
George tolerated all the fuss that came with being around politics, always sober and never lost his mind, he was the true gentleman of VIP protection. Oduor was exactly who we needed at the most difficult and trying moments.
We will dearly miss him. May his soul rest in eternal peace.
