Lamu Deputy Governor Raphael Ndung’u is dead

Lamu Deputy Governor Raphael Ndung’u has passed away.

News of his death was announced by President William Ruto on Friday evening, as he condoled with the family, friends and people of Lamu.

The President described Ndung’u as a progressive leader who worked for the benefit of the people of the Coastal county.

“I am saddened by the news of the passing away of the Deputy Governor of Lamu County Raphael Munyua Ndung’u. He was a progressive leader who worked tirelessly for the greater good of the people of Lamu.

“Our love and prayers to the family, friends and the people of Lamu County at this sad moment. Rest In Peace,” Ruto said.

Reports say the DG succumbed following a short illness at a hospital in Nairobi.
