List of artists performing at the 2024/5 Beneath The Baobabs Festival in Kilifi

Beneath the Baobabs Festival has now grown to be one of Kenya’s top international events, showcasing the best in contemporary dance music and performances.

This year the festival invites some very special headliners from East and South Africa, with a special focus on Mijikenda and Swahili Bands, MCs, DJs and performers to lead the charge.

The festival this year is set to immerse the festival goer in a transformative journey as they cross into the New Year under the stars of Kilifi.

The Beneath The Baobabs Festival line-up consistently unites respected names of the Kenyan Electronic Music Scene, exciting emerging acts shifting the landscape in East Africa and globally, as well as a carefully curated selection of International Acts keen to experience the magic of Kilifi.

Beneath The Baobabs Festival have just dropped their first 30 acts for the NYE Festival of two days and nights, across 5 stages in the Baobab Forest of Kilifi.

International Headliners include SA Amapiano Legend, VIGRO DEEP; the Godfather of Kenyan Alternative music BLINKY BILL will cross us intot he New Year; followed by the amazing KAMPIRE from Uganda; on opening night we are honoured to host South African super star DESIREE for a MMINO Takeover; whilst crossing us into New Year on an Afro-House tip will be the effervescent EMMANUEL JAL of South Sudan, performing with live dancers and musicians.

Beneath The Baobabs Festival is best known for its work in developing the Kenyan music scene, offering a platform for new and established acts and sounds to represent the hard work done in the clubs and on tour. With sounds ranging from Amapiano to Afro House; House to Techno; Global Bass to Hip Hop; Arbantone & Afrobeats to Live Music; the festival caters for all partygoers, ensuring there is a sound for everyone to immerse themselves in.

With over 30 more acts still to be announced, the lineup for Beneath The Baobabs Festival this year is bigger than ever!!!

Set on 50 acres of pristine Enchanted Baobab Forest, upstream from the Takaungu Creek and 5kms from the Indian Ocean, Beneath The Baobabs Festival is the perfect tropical setting offering an immersive experience of contemporary and traditional Kenyan culture.

All five of the festival’s stages are built into the forest setting, supported by top quality Sound, Lighting, Ground Performers, Art Installations and Decor, each playing a crucial role in assisting the audience towards a truly transformative experience.

The festival hosts some of the hardest hitting healers, therapists and activists in the region under its KISIMA arm, allowing for a mindful celebration whilst celebrating the New Year in a unique way.

The tropical setting is amplified by viewing decks 30ms above the forest floor, with a plethora of huge Baobab, Tamarind and Neem trees keeping the grounds shaded and relaxing: the ideal way to combine adventure and travel with the very best music you can find.

Accommodation is best found onsite in the well equipped Free Camping and Glamping Zones. Both areas are well lit, have Eco-Loos and Showers and are the best way to make the most of the full festival experience.

Now well established as Kenya’s most diverse celebration of the New Year, Beneath The Baobabs Festival, 2024/5 marks an incredible 10 Years of New Year Festivals in Kilifi.
