Content creator and activist Mercy Tarus and political activist Kebaso Morara are having a public fallout over the ownership of the “Kenya ni Home” phrase.
Ms Tarus has called out Morara for allegedly stealing her phrase after he released videos of his activism car branded with the phrase.
In a series of tweets, Tarus sought to expose Morara and the alleged dirty tricks he has been playing on her and others.
She claims that Morara has been camping in her inbox for consultations yet in the public eye he wants to ride solo.
The 24-year-old claimed she held meetings with Kebaso and his team, and concluded that they are clueless about what’s next for the movement.
“I’m not a pushover. I’m not someone you can just ride on. I hear the rest as noise and dissect through your fake awakening.
Your team has been with me and they know I don’t go for hype. If you’re man enough you form yours! Kenya Ni Home and home must be respected,” she said.
She went on to add; “Ati leader of the xxx movement. Which movement? You can’t guide the people on how to react. No one guided anyone before the 25th.
“It happened organically. People died for this thing and someone is here claiming to be a leader? Kenya Ni Home and home must be respected,”.

However, advocate for government accountability Morara Kebaso responded to human rights defender Mercy Tarus, asserting that no one can claim ownership of a movement but rather one can only be part of it.
He has encouraged Kenyans to use the phrase “Kenya ni Home” freely and to produce their own “Vampire Diaries” videos to expose corruption and failed projects.
“No one can own a movement you can only be part of one. Let all kenyans print Kenya ni Home and hang it on their walls. Let all kenyans record vampire diary videos of how money has been stolen in their villages and towns through corruption and dead projects. The mission is to activate everyone to do what they can do,” Morara said.
“MOVING ON. Vampire Diaries Delaunch Tour Goes Back to mount Kenya beginning this week Friday Morning. Meeting point is National Oil ThikaRoad UniCity Mall at 9.00am.
