Media personality Muchina Malomba has officially announced his exit from Kiss FM, marking the end of a chapter that defined a 20-year-old dream and the beginning of a bold new journey into full-time travel content creation.

Muchina, who has been a vibrant voice on Radio Africa Group’s Kiss FM, revealed that he has chosen to walk away from what many would consider a dream job to pursue his passion for travel and digital storytelling.

From Childhood Dream to National Airwaves

In a heartfelt message shared with his fans, Muchina reflected on how his journey into media began at just 11 years old. He vividly recalls reading “pretend news” in front of his classmates and envisioning a future in communications.

“Communications. That was the only option I had,” he shared. Though he briefly considered becoming an air host so he could travel the world, or even a chef because of his love for food, radio remained the clearest dream.

That dream would eventually lead him to Kiss FM, but not without years of hustle. Muchina disclosed that he worked for six years chasing the opportunity before finally receiving the life-changing call from HR — ironically on April Fool’s Day.

“When I received that call from the HR that I had gotten the job, I actually told her I don’t have time for pranks. I mean, it was the 1st of April — Fool’s Day,” he recalled. “She laughed and said, ‘No, Muchina, this is Radio Africa HR, come get your contract!’”

A Journey Through the Ranks

During his time at Kiss FM, Muchina proved his versatility across multiple shows. He worked the graveyard shift (midnight to 5am), hosted the Maloko Show, and most recently co-hosted the station’s breakfast show, The Morning Kiss, alongside media personality Cyd Wambui.

From late-night radio to prime-time mornings, Muchina says he gave the station his all.

“From graveyard shift, to the Maloko show, to the morning show — I gave radio my all,” he wrote, acknowledging the growth and self-discovery that came with the journey.

He also paid glowing tribute to Cyd Wambui, thanking her for the partnership, growth, and shared dreams on air. “Your confidence, your resilience, your warmth — you are one beautiful soul,” he wrote, adding that he will still tune in to listen to her on air.

Choosing Passion Over Comfort

Despite achieving what he once manifested as a young boy, Muchina admits that his free-spirited nature has led him to make a bold decision.

“Today as I leave one of the biggest stations in the country, I am letting go of a 20-year-old dream that I manifested right when I was an 11-year-old child,” he said.

His next move? Fully dedicating himself to travel content creation.

“A boy just wants to travel and create content while at it. I know it sounds ridiculous. I have quit my dream job to give travel content creation a chance,” he shared candidly. “I have no idea what I am doing, to be honest, but I know I have made the right choice for myself.”

It’s a leap of faith that speaks to a growing wave of media personalities pivoting into digital spaces where storytelling meets lifestyle, adventure, and authenticity.

Gratitude to Fans

Muchina expressed deep gratitude to his listeners who tuned in every morning and engaged with his “crazy conversations” on air. He also thanked his friends, family, and loyal supporters, acknowledging that his time on Kiss FM would not have been possible without them.

As he steps away from traditional radio, Muchina Malomba’s story becomes one of courage — choosing uncertainty over comfort, passion over predictability, and dreams over titles.

For now, one thing is clear: the microphone may be off, but the journey is just beginning.
