NTV Kenya has officially unveiled Fellaris Wambui as the newest presenter of its flagship current affairs show Fixing The Nation, marking a significant transition following the exit of veteran media personality Janet Mbugua.

The announcement, made through a promo released on Friday, April 17, signals a fresh chapter for the morning show, with Wambui stepping into a role that has, over time, become central to national discourse. She joins the existing lineup alongside Eric Latiff and Mariam Bishar, with the new team set to debut on Monday, April 20.

Confirming the transition, Latiff welcomed Wambui while acknowledging the impact of her predecessor.

“Happy to welcome Fellaris Wambui to Fixing The Nation from Monday 20th April. She picked the baton from the inimitable Janet Mbugua who fixed for one year and two months,” he said.

Wambui, in her introduction, struck a confident and purpose-driven tone, positioning herself as ready to carry forward the show’s mission of accountability and civic engagement.

“It’s gonna be a good one. My name is Fellaris Wambui, and I am a fixer. We stay in the fight until the nation feels the change. We are going the distance,” she said, inviting viewers to tune in to the refreshed lineup.

A Transition Marked by Legacy and Reinvention

The announcement comes just days after Mbugua officially signed off from the show, closing a chapter that had seen her reconnect with audiences during a year-long return to mainstream television on NTV Kenya.

Her final broadcast was both professional and deeply personal. In a poignant moment, she confirmed her departure, citing the need to refocus on evolving personal and professional priorities.

“This is my last Fixing The Nation show. It’s not an easy decision; it was one that was necessary… personal and professional priorities needed me to redirect elsewhere,” she said.

Mbugua also expressed gratitude to her co-hosts and the production team, underscoring the collaborative effort behind the show’s success.

Her exit follows an emotional send-off that saw her accompanied by her two sons on her final day—an intimate reflection of a career that has increasingly balanced public influence with personal purpose. Known for her calm authority and advocacy-driven journalism, Mbugua’s presence on the show helped shape conversations around governance, social justice and citizen accountability.

What Wambui’s Entry Means for the Show

Wambui’s arrival signals both continuity and evolution for Fixing The Nation. While the format and core mission remain unchanged, her voice introduces a new dynamic to a program that thrives on critical conversations and public engagement.

With Latiff’s seasoned moderation and Bishar’s analytical depth already anchoring the show, Wambui steps into a space that demands both journalistic rigour and relatability—qualities she appears eager to bring to the table.

As the new trio prepares to take over, all eyes will be on how the refreshed lineup shapes the next phase of one of Kenya’s most influential morning shows.

For viewers, the message is clear: the faces may change, but the mission to “fix the nation” continues—one conversation at a time.
