Quickmart has released an official statement addressing a recent incident at its Buruburu branch that has sparked widespread discussion on social media.
The supermarket chain confirmed its awareness of the matter and emphasized that it is taking the situation “very seriously,” offering a public apology to the affected customer and the broader community.
“Quickmart wishes to acknowledge the recent incident circulating on social media concerning a customer at our Buruburu branch. We want to assure our valued customers and the public that we are fully aware of the matter and are taking it very seriously,” the statement read in part.
In the statement dated August 5, 2025, Quickmart revealed that swift action had been taken in response to the public outcry. The staff members involved have been suspended pending a full investigation.
“As soon as we became aware of the situation, we took immediate action by placing the staff involved on suspension while conducting a thorough investigation in collaboration with the relevant authorities,” it continued.
Quickmart also expressed sincere regret over the incident and extended an apology to the affected customer.
“We deeply regret the distress this incident has caused and we sincerely apologize to the affected customer and to everyone who feels let down by this experience,” the retailer stated.

Reaffirming its core values of “respect, kindness, and integrity,” Quickmart made it clear that such behaviour is not condoned within its establishments.
The company further noted that it regularly conducts training and seminars to uphold these principles among its staff.
In a show of accountability and compassion, Quickmart confirmed that it has reached out directly to the customer involved.
“We have personally reached out to the affected customer to offer our heartfelt apologies, reassurance and support. We want everyone to know that their safety, dignity, and respect are at the core of everything we do at Quickmart.”
The statement concluded with appreciation for customers’ continued trust and a pledge to ensure that all Quickmart stores remain safe and welcoming spaces.
